About Us

Who Are We?

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10).

In the above verse The Apostle Paul identifies us as simply as possible. We must hasten to point out, however, that God’s handiwork is an unfinished work. We are, therefore, a congregation covenanted to love and serve one another in order that together we may "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18).

Calvary Community Church (CCC) has morphed into an independent congregation located in the quiet town of Lawrenceville, PA. A healthy tree extends roots in all directions, enriching the life of the tree. In a similar way, CCC is enriched by the people who worship and serve together coming from all directions in the Lawrenceville region of Tioga County at the confluence of the Cowanesque and Tioga Rivers.
Mention should also be made of the historical roots that to this day continue to provide nourishment. From the 1800’s through the beginning of the current century there were several small churches in the Tioga/Lawrenceville region, primarily United Methodist and Presbyterian. For a variety of reasons (demographic and theological changes, natural disasters) these churches ceased to exist. We, CCC, are the remnant, joined by members of more recent generations.
We are a band of Christians committed to God, to each other, and to the vision of sharing the unchanging Word with our ever-changing world.
We are a young congregation, being just under a year old, still toddling a little as we take baby steps. At the same time, we are blessed to have a wealth of resources in the practical experience of many who served the Lord in the congregations mentioned above.
We are a mixture of folks traveling together who invite you to come along and journey with us.

“It is our vision to share the unchanging WORD with our changing world.”

At Calvary Community Church, we believe in the power of faith and the potential of every individual to find purpose and make a difference. We are dedicated to creating a space where people can embrace their identity, define their future, and contribute to the positive transformation of the world.
